My wife and I braved the freezing cold to make our way down the street to the Sunroom coffee shop. As frustrating it is to find parking downtown Salt Lake City, we got lucky on a vacant space limited to 2 hour parking just up the street. Jackie unfortunately, wasn’t so lucky and she froze her tush in a simple pull over to walk an extra block to reach the warmth of the Sunroom coffee shop. We were shocked at how cold it was, 20f at the time. We sit on the couch waiting for Jackie and she arrived 5 minutes later, her face was bright red and her Mother asking “where is your coat?”.

Sunroom feels like an upscaled coffee shop. Downtown Urban Coffee was nice too, but Sunroom felt classier due to its stylish, plushy, comfortable furniture. Also similar to downtown Urban coffee, Sunroom was part of SLX residential complex. The place was busy, people parked up to the bar working on laptops and others mingling around the room on the plush furniture or cushioned stools and tables. While I dislike empty coffee shops, this one felt overly crowded with people waiting for an available space to sit.

Jackie and I ordered lattes while Mom requested a sweet chai latte. The latte arrived in a paper cup as they don’t sport ceramic mugs unfortunately. No latte art here as I pulled off the cap to find a lumpy frothy fuzz. Despite the paper cup and messy foamed milk, the taste was agreeable. It was slightly sweetened chocolaty without any bitterness.

I would rate this latte a 7/10. If it were in a mug with delicate latte art then I’d give it a 9.5.
